SERENBE DESIGNER SHOWHOUSE 2017

You may have seen a glimpse of the Serenbe Designer Showhouse on my Instagram Stories last weekend, but I’ve got a full tour of the two townhouses at the heart of Serenbe’s new Mado community the made up the 2017 showhouse. This showhouse was special because the location was at the center of a new development for Serenbe (there were homes and townhouses being constructed all around it!) and featured two compact townhomes to give visitors a chance to see two separate looks and layouts. The showhouse benefitted The Art Farm at Serenbe, a 40-acre outdoor complex that serves as a central place for artists, the arts and culture at Serenbe. The Art Farm provides a physical space to ignite passion and imagination in nature and works in collaboration with the Serenbe Institute and other partners to amplify their work and makers.

Visiting the showhouse was part of a super special weekend I spent at the Serenbe Inn with my family for fall break. I’ll be sharing more of that trip in the next week, but for now, I can’t wait to take you inside the chic showhome(s)!

Each of the neighborhoods or ‘hamlets’ at Serenbe have a theme, and Mado is the newest addition to the development with a Health + Wellness theme. This area will include a commercial center with European-style plazas integrated with mixed-use lofts and live/work opportunities. It will feature multi-generational living, resort destination spa and wellness center, community pool, fitness center with yoga/pilates studio, Montessori school campus ages 3-14 and child care for ages 0-3 plus a wellness center to integrate all medical and health needs of residents and visitors. It’s an impressive undertaking that will add a huge community to Serenbe. These central buildings that housed the two townhomes decorated for the showhouse are at the center of the development and are inspired by a Scandinavian aesthetic. Serenbe released this virtual tour of Mado over a year ago and it’s amazing to see it being built now!

TOWNHOUSE ONE

The first townhouse featured a more monochromatic palette with lots of layered neutrals and bright rooms that fit beautifully with the architecture of the home. In this layout, the kitchen and living room were separated and the basement was finished with a guest bedroom. I loved the modern-rustic style combination in the living room and the cozy neutral textures in the guest bedroom. I also captured one of my favorite architectural elements below – the design of the stairs, which had a very modern profile with no lip. It was an elegant look on the three-story staircase!

TOWNHOUSE TWO

The second townhouse featured more color, while keeping a comfortable, classic aesthetic and many of the same architectural elements like bleached floors. In this layout, the entry opened into the open kitchen and living area with a cozy dining nook under the stairs. This design included two bedrooms on the top floor and an extra-large covered balcony off the master bedroom that added a private outdoor retreat to the suite.

What do you think of the two townhomes and the new Mado neighborhood? In case you missed it, I visited the Serenbe showhouse two years ago as well.
