I’m excited to share a fun holiday vignette I put together with AllModern – the perfect entertaining hub with some festive spirit fit for the season! I found this fabulous old-school cabinet from their holiday furniture shop, with a mid-century silhouette and even space for a turntable with a hinged panel on top! I made it the entertainer’s best friend by filling it with equal parts dinnerware and bar supplies and used the turntable space for easy access to glasses. On top, I featured some stylish and seasonally-appropriate accessories from their decor holiday shop, including funky DwellStudio candleholders, a white deer figurine, and gold flatware in easy reach. The blues and whites look stunning in front of our new dining room wall color and I’ve already put our new pieces to use with Thanksgiving entertaining at my dad’s house.
AllModern still has Cyber Week savings on their site so don’t forget to check out their great selection of modern furniture and decor. Continue reading below to see how I stocked up this great new piece with everything my dad needs for entertaining guests, right within reach in the dining room.

The day after Thanksgiving, my Momma and I kicked off the holidays with a visit to the inspiring Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Home for the Holidays, an annual showhouse featuring the best in Southeastern design talents and stunning rooms fully decorated for the holidays – truly bringing ‘Deck the Halls’ to life. I shared many scenes on my Instagram story, but captured my favorite moments with my camera to bring these beautiful rooms to you, and start celebrating the holidays here on Thou Swell. Enjoy these vignettes below, and don’t miss visiting the holiday home before December 10th if you live in the Atlanta area to experience the designers’ visions for each room.
The home is an 8,800 square foot Buckhead estate situated on two acres, designed by Harrison Design and built by Sheehan Built Homes. The showhouse featured 20 different designers and all proceeds benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. See the home’s facade and step inside the dramatic rotunda entryway below. Read More
My grandfather liked to finish all his Christmas shopping by Thanksgiving, and boy am I behind! The gift piles under my bed are not piles at all quite yet so I’m hoping to find some great deals this weekend, from Black Friday to Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday to start checking things off my gift list for family and friends (and maybe even discover some gifts I hadn’t thought of myself). I’m quite the Christmas elf so when it comes to gift giving I try to channel my recipient to find the perfect thing! I’ll be sharing much more of that with a series of gift guides leading up to the 25th, but to kick off the shopping for all of us who aren’t quite as organized as my grandfather was, here are the best Black Friday home decor sales to shop this weekend. Valentine’s Day can be the perfect time to entertain – whether you’re a singleton or celebrating a relationship. Why not create a rosy-hued soiree and invite friends over for some delicious appetizers? I set out a spread with deviled eggs, salmon roe, root chips with creme fraîche, and lots of warm-toned entertaining accessories. With a vintage red and white tablecloth as my backdrop, I brought in blush NAPKINS and gold NAPKIN RINGS to add warmth to the table, keeping the dinnerware simple with the subtle patterns of the ECLECTIQUE COLLECTION from Williams-Sonoma. With the touch of gold from these CERAMIC SPOONS, it all came together in the evening sun’s warm glow. Check out my four steps for creating your own appetizer party below!
It feels like we’re only days into 2017, but the beginning of February is already upon us and February 14th is just around the corner! While Valentine’s Day might seem like a sad holiday for some, I enjoy embracing the love-liness of the rosy-hued holiday – love for friends, family, and significant others of course! It’s a great holiday for celebrating all the things we love in our life, and sharing a few thoughtful gifts is always fun. I’ve been embracing blush ever since I used it behind the bar in my mom’s living room, so I can’t wait to share lots of the color this week, in this gift guide and in my next few posts with entertaining and design inspiration for next Tuesday. In this guide you’ll find everything from abstract art to chic jewelry (from the designer I always gift to my mom) and lots of luxe gifts in-between. Click through to shop my picks! Read More
