Living in my first apartment comes with lots of new responsibilities, and cleaning is one of the major ones! It’s easy to get behind on cleaning during the winter when I’m feeling the most sluggish and just want to cozy up in my bed. Now that the weather has started to turn around and the sun has reappeared in the Ithaca skies, it’s time to catch up on all that cleaning! Luckily, I was able to partner with OXO for this post and they sent me some of their handy cleaning tools to get me started and inspired for spring cleaning. See all the tools and my cleaning tips below.
The hardest part about spring cleaning for me is just getting started. Once I actually get going, I get a lot of adrenaline to help me refresh and reorganize! The key to getting started is giving yourself the tools to do so, and making sure you have a plan of attack. It’s important to clear everything off of your counters in the beginning to give yourself access to every surface that needs a wipe down – and always start from top to bottom!
Sinks are cleaning central in the kitchen, so it’s important that everything around them ensures easy and efficient use of cleaning tools! I added a new OXO Stainless Steel Sinkware Caddy, Soap Dispenser, Soap Dispensing Dish Brush, and Steady Paper Towel Holder to our island. I hadn’t really realized what a difference these items could make until I started using them. The Stainless Steel Sinkware Caddy helps organize our sponges, which used to lie on the counter and leak water all over the place. The Soap Dispensing Dish Brush makes it so much easier to clean up. It dispenses soap on demand – now we don’t have to flip the soap container upside down to get the soap out or keep it on the counter. With the new Steady Paper Towel Holder, I can grab a paper towel with one hand and not have to worry about the whole thing tipping over!
The OXO brand has always been a favorite of mine because all of their tools are super comfortable to hold, which is great if you have a lot to clean. Their designs help you get your cleaning done so much more efficiently, with features like the soap dispenser in the scrub brush so that you never run out of suds. Another one of my favorite tools is the OXO Water Bottle Cleaning Set, which includes a straw brush so that I can ensure my water cup stays nice and clean on the inside!
It’s amazing what a difference a few tools can make. Getting started may be the hardest part about spring cleaning, but OXO certainly makes it a lot easier! Visit the OXO website to be entered to win the Spring Cleaning Sweepstakes.
