A lot has changed in Terrace Drive Project since I added the beautiful paint colors in the living room and bedroom, and another important surface has now been covered with the addition of these vintage-inspired area rugs from Mohawk Home. Since Murphy’s apartment has tile throughout the space, the addition of rugs to define each area and soften the rooms was key to making the space feel homier. These beautiful rugs have classic vintage designs with lighter color palettes to keep the rooms bright. Get a first look at the colorful apartment design and see what both of these new rugs add to each room below!

The Bovard rug has a really soothing color palette that is perfect for the living room, which features some stronger colors in the red sofa and tropical ottoman. The soft vintage look is a perfect pairing for the tufted sofa and balances it out with its cool tones. I also love that this rug is soft but low pile, which makes it super easy to clean which is great since the living room is the space you walk directly into from the front door.

This view of the living room shows a peek of the new wallpaper covering the wall around the faux fireplace (soon to be filled with books)! This beautiful peel-and-stick “Nuage” mural is from Anewall and makes the room feel so light and airy with the large-scale clouds and soft blue tones! I love how it pairs with the cool hues of the area rug and the custom cushions I had made for the rattan chair.

The pink nook is coming together so well and feels so cozy thanks to a little velvet curtain I hung to divide the space. I had red toile cushions made for the window seat (soon to become a dining bench), and I worked with Murphy to create a really fun custom piece of artwork for this corner with a neon sign for an extra personal touch.

Murphy’s favorite symbol is the cherry so I worked with Neon Mama to have a custom cherry light made that I hung in front of an abstract painting I created using warm red and pink hues. It looks so cool in here with the sign lit up!

In the cozy dark green bedroom, the Lancaster rug made all the difference in making this space feel cozy and inviting. With the walls being so dark, I knew a rug with a lighter color palette would shine in here, and this one had all the right colors to tie in the decor, with a little green, blue, and yellow in the faded pattern. I love how the area rug adds a traditional touch with more contemporary colors.

Not only is the pattern stunning, this rug is so soft to walk across, especially with a thick Mohawk Home rug pad to add extra cushion. It’s a new favorite and the design is so versatile for any space!

I’m in love with the vintage-inspired rugs I added to the Terrace Drive apartment with Mohawk Home. They completely transformed the home and brought the warm, cozy touch that it needed to pull the furniture and decor together. These designs do a great job of providing just enough pattern to each room without overwhelming them, and I love the soft, faded palettes in each rug.

You put a rattan roll up blind in only one window in the bedroom photo? Is there a reason?
